Mrs. Whipp--First Grade Teacher
Welcome to First Grade! My name is Holly Whipp. I am so excited to be teaching your child this year! Even though this is only my first year in the district, I am not new to teaching. This will be my thirteenth year teaching elementary age students.
I first taught in the Gresham School District teaching students with special needs ages 3K to fifth grade. Although I loved Gresham, it was two hours on the road each day. I then taught in the Green Bay Area Public School District for eight years with three being in special education and five teaching third grade. The last two years I co-taught kindergarten and then looped to first grade with the students. I went back to school and earned half a master’s degree in Early Childhood from Viterbo University. I am still taking classes in this area. I am so excited to be part of the Altmayer Elementary School Family!
My husband and I live in the Denmark/Eaton area and have three children: Kaylee (8), Jake (6), and Olivia (4). Jake will be in first grade this year and my youngest is off to 4K!
I love teaching first grade! There is so much growth that happens in first grade and I am excited to help students by differentiating instruction based on their individual needs.
Thank you for entrusting me with your child. I promise to help foster the love of learning while they become readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, inventors musicians and engineers.
