As you begin to prepare for the upcoming school year, there are a few key dates to note:

For students who will be starting kindergarten at Altmayer this fall, there is an optional (but recommended) kindergarten camp to help students begin to acclimate to school. RSVP is required, and invitation emails were sent to incoming families at the end of June. Reminder emails will be sent again in July. If you have not received the email, please call the school office at 920-338-1894. |

Families of kindergarten through fourth grade, who are new to Altmayer, are invited to attend our New Family Orientation, where you will hear from Principal Mark Kirst and other staff about key information to help you start the school year. |

Meet the Teacher and School Supply Drop Off | Altmayer Elementary School | All students in all grades are welcome to come to school to meet their teacher and see their classrooms. School supplies are also dropped off during this time. |

Kindergarten Start of School Year INFO
Students starting kindergarten have a slightly different schedule for the start of the school year. This is to ensure they have additional time to adjust to a the classroom environment. Communications will be emailed directly to families with detailed instructions and sign-ups. That being said, the overall schedule for kindergarteners is as follows:
August 27 and 28 - Kindergarten Assessment Days
Parents will sign their student up for a 30-minute, one-to-one meeting with their teacher. Sign-up links will be emailed directly to families in July.
August 31 and September 1 - Kindergarten Soft Start
For the first "full days" of school, kindergarteners have a soft start to help them ease into the school routine. This also allows teachers to provide more guidance to smaller groups of students as they begin their school journey.
- One half of the class will attend on August 31, then stay home on Sept. 1
- The other half of the class will stay home on August 31, then attend on Sept. 1
- All students from all kindergarten classes will attend Sept. 2
Details will be emailed directly to families in July.

LOCAL EVENTS AND ACTIVITIESTo learn about events and activities being offered in the community, please visit the district bulletin board.
SAFE SCHOOL - VOLUNTEERS AND VISITORSAll volunteers, visitors, and anyone who is not current Altmayer staff MUST check in with the front office before entering the building. If it is your first time visiting our school, you will be asked to present a government ID or diver license. All visitors must wear the guest sticker for the entirety of their visit.
All volunteers must first complete a background check. Please complete this form. If questions, call our school office at (920) 338-1894.
